radioCount Announces Launch of New Canadian Audience Measurement Service
radioCount, the sister company of microtherapy inc., announced today the launch of a new radio audience measurement service for Canada. Starting this September, radioCount will begin measuring over 20 markets across the country with a Fall 2021 survey release available in late November.
Following the announcement in late 2020 that several markets would no longer be measured by the existing diary service, Radio Connects established a committee of broadcaster, rep shop and agency representatives to evaluate alternative options. In May 2021, the Canadian Association of Broadcasters endorsed radioCount‘s approach which uses a combination of telephone recall and e-surveys.
The launch of radioCount ushers in a new era of radio measurement for Canada. We built this new service out of microtherapy‘s data division, which has been producing audience data in the USA for 20 years. Providing an accurate, responsive and cost effective service is the cornerstone of radioCount. We are fully committed to providing a seamless transition for the industry.
Establishing a new measurement service of this scale, in such a short time period, is quite an accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of the Canadian radio industry for coming together to make this happen.
